I know. You're thinking 'Why would I download and print a greeting card, bother with the time and effort, for something that looks cheap and homemade?'

Well, let me tell you.

1. Quality

There is nothing cheap or homemade looking about Duck Soup Designs Greeting Cards. The secret is their design. Duck Soup Designs make using simple 8 ½ x 11 printer paper and cardstock look like it was always supposed to be that way.

Images are 300dpi, .png and .pdf files. Both print with the highest clarity and colour. And you can choose which file type you like best. 

2. Selection

Because we don't need a physical place to store our product, our collection can grow to virtually unlimited depths. It's taking some time and work to start loading up our online shelves, but that's a process that will be ongoing, for as long as we're here. 

Add to that, that finding exactly the card you're looking for can be infinitely faster and easier than standing in a store with all the other offspring in search of the perfect Mother's Day card.

It's as easy as typing a few keywords into the Search bar, and voila!

3. One-Stop

Every card comes with a printable envelope that you can print and fold to fit the card perfectly.

And the card is always, exactly, ½ of an 8 ½ x 11 page. 

Fits every home printer I've ever heard of. And all you need to master this feat is a pair of scissors (optional, actually) and a few dabs of glue (again, optional.) And something to write with (highly recommended.)

It even comes with instructions. 

And you keep the files, so you can reuse the envelope every time one of the kids wants to make Grandma a card with your printer paper.

4. Eco-Friendly

I don't care what you think about Climate Change. The bottom line is that we have one planet. And no options in sight. (Despite the best projections.) And we should take better care of it. It shouldn't look like a teenager's bedroom.

Our products are as green as humanly possible right now. There's no shipping. No warehousing. No waste. 

You download and print as needed.

Our printing partner, Printful, prints on demand (POD). So your t-shirt, wall hanging, tote bag, ... isn't printed until you order it. It is far more efficient to store 10,000 blank white t-shirts than 100 of this and 1000 of that. 

Throw in shipping, and even that's more efficient. It takes less fuel for one truck to deliver 100 packages than for 50 cars to drive to the mall to buy a couple items each.

5. Canadian

Yep. Alex is Canadian. She lives in Canada. Duck Soup Designs is based in Canada. And we're doing our level best to source everything we can through Canadian channels. 

With our Analog Merch, even if the base product - the mug, the pillow, the pants... - come from somewhere else, we're trying to make sure they're printed, finalized, and shipped from Canada. Second choice being, close to you. Printful, our POD printer, has facilities all over the world. 

We're paying attention. But we can't catch everything, so be sure to let us know if we missed something. 

 

So yeah, downloadable files are in their infancy as far as popularity goes. As the world shifts to greener options, and families find more efficient ways to manage their time and their budgets, we will be here to answer the need.
